Casual Positions

Non Les Mills Rate: $50.84 per hour inclusive of casual loading (junior rates apply if under 21).

Les Mills Rate: $55.78 per hour inclusive of casual loading (junior rates apply if under 21).

We recognise that a great organisation is about great people and we’re seeking expressions of interest from experienced Group Fitness Instructors who wish to join our valued Leisure Services team at Wellington Council.

We are seeking individuals with a high level of experience in group fitness instruction who are motivated, proactive and passionate about health and fitness. Utilising your excellent communication skills and your ability to build rapport with customers, you will be required to facilitate personal training sessions and/or group fitness classes, whilst ensuring that all aspects of the facility are well presented and maintained.

The successful applicants will be required to have obtained relevant qualifications prior to commencing work. Appointments are subject to a pre-employment medical, National Police Record Clearance and Working with Children Check.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:

  • Extensive experience in conducting and supervising group fitness classes.
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in the fitness industry.
  • Ability to effectively work as a team member and contribute to a team orientated environment.
  • Les Mills GEL component for Les Mills qualifications or group exercise qualifications equivalent to Group Exercise Freestyle component (Certificate III in Fitness).
  • Certificate IV Specialisation Module in Exercise for Children and Young Adolescents (or equivalent).
