Digital Media Officer

Band 5 $64,093 - $73,836 per annum plus 9.5% statutory superannuation
Wellington Shire Council are looking for a bright, vibrant and energetic Digital Media Officer. In this role you will build Council’s digital presence with engaging and effective content for targeted digital reach. You will also assist in the development of high impact campaigns to help keep the community informed and engaged with the organisation’s projects, services and activities.
The successful applicant possesses excellent communication and time management skills, and great attention to detail. They are experienced in digital marketing, the development of media releases, responses and monitoring; editorial, speeches, presentations, publications, social media, web content and corporate events. If you have a passion for proactive media, enjoy finding and telling great stories, have a positive outlook toward government communication, the desire to develop strong leadership skills and are a person that loves a challenge, then we’d encourage you to apply.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:
- Experience in the development of public relations strategies and programs as well as sound knowledge of social media and digital communication strategies.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate effectively on all levels.
- Highly developed evaluation and decision making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proven ability to set goals, manage competing demands and fluctuating workloads.
- Advanced skills with the Microsoft suite of products; Adobe Creative Suite skills are beneficial.
