Permanent Part-Time 0.6 EFT (equivalent to 12 days per month)
Band 4 - $35,313 - $37,437 per annum plus 9.5% statutory superannuation plus an annualised public holiday allowance
We recognise that a great organisation is about great people and we’re looking to add to our valued Arts and Culture team. The Wedge Performing Arts Centre is a 400-seat theatre, cafe, function and meeting room facility. The Centre is a member of VAPAC and part of the national touring network.
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent part-time Coordinator Production to provide high quality technical services to presenters and support for events at The Wedge. Supervising the casual Theatre Technicians, the position requires excellent communication with presenters, visitors and staff, knowledge of safe work practices, as well as current theatre and function practices and trends. The theatre environment involves long hours, irregular shift patterns, heavy physical work and tight deadlines.
You will have extensive experience in the Functions and Entertainment industry or be tertiary qualified in the field. You’ll have proven staff supervision and management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Please note your availability to work on weekends and evenings will be paramount.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:
- Proven staff supervision and management skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the technical theatre equipment used at The Wedge which includes Allen & Heath i-Live audio and ETC Eos consoles or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to Mix audio to a professional standard for all types of events including bands, musical theatre and corporate events.
- Demonstrated ability to operate Lighting to a professional standard for all types of events including bands, musical theatre and corporate events.
- Appropriate communication skills to liaise with presenters on their technical requirements and explain services and standards.
